Under direct guidance and supervision, the Guest Advisor is part of a store team committed to developing customer loyalty, driving for results, and achieving individual goals. As needed to achieve success, the Guest Advisor will participate in the day-to-day operations of the store, principally focusing on sales and customer service activities. Guest Advisors will always act in accordance with GameStop's policies, practices, and core values.The ideal candidate must have a strong focus on customer satisfaction and meeting individual sales goals.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProvide best-in-class customer service ensure high levels of customer satisfactionAttain individual sales objectives and goalsFocus on a selling culture that maximizes store profitabilityResolve or escalate customer concerns and complaints in a timely and professional mannerProtect company assets through effective inventory control and loss prevention practicesQUALIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEMust be at least 18 years of age[i]High school diploma required; An Associate's or accredited Bachelor's degree preferred6 months of work experience; previous retail sales or guest services experience is preferredMINIMUM JOB SKILLS and ABILITIESAbility to achieve objectives in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environmentExcellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work a rotating schedule, including nights and weekends Ability to follow instructions presented in written, oral or diagram form Ability to communicate effectively with others using spoken and written English; ability to speak and/or write in other languages a plusPHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTSMust be able to move throughout the store unassisted and stand for extended periods of time (8 hours or more per day)The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 poundsWalk, use hands and fingers to handle small objects or controls, reach and stretch with hands and arms, balance, bend, stoop, reach with arms and hands, kneel and crawl, talk and hear, and climb on laddersSpecific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, the ability to look at the computer screen for extended periods of time and the ability to adjust focusGameStop and its affiliated businesses reserve the right to change job descriptions at any time based on business conditions/needs, which includes expanding this job's responsibilities and assigning additional duties consistent with the position's purpose.
