Job Description Job Description Key skills: System Integration, Functional Testing, Incident Resolution An Azure Disaster Recovery (DR) Marshal is a specialized role focused on coordinating and executing failover operations using Azure Site Recovery during disasters or drills. This position ensures minimal downtime for Azure workloads by managing replication, failover, and failback processes. Provide expertise and understanding of the Disaster recovery process working with cross-functional teams to design, engineer, rationalize tools to present a coherent DR Environment footprint. The candidate must be a self-starter, capable of multitasking and efficiently managing their time in a dynamic environment with demanding deadlines while requiring minimal levels of supervision. Additionally, the candidate must possess excellent writing, speaking, analytical, project management, organizational and collaboration skills that will assist them in identifying solutions to complex DR problems. Responsibilities Knowledge of DR best practices like defining thresholds, communication strategies, and automation oversight. Execute and manage failover and failback for virtual machines or applications as directed by application owners Re-protect workloads post-disaster resolution without altering replication settings, vaults, or user access. Participate in DR drills to validate recovery plans, monitor health, and meet RTO/RPO objectives. Expertise in Azure Site Recovery for replication across regions or hybrid setups. Familiarity with monitoring tools, backup integration, and business continuity planning Qualifications - Experience in DR management and Hands-on experience in implementation and deployment of solutions within timelines with Advanced knowledge of Azure Site Recovery for VM replication, failover, and failback across regions or hybrid environments. Familiarity with Recovery Services Vaults, RTO/RPO metrics, and permissions like Site Recovery Operator role. Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate as a baseline; Azure Solutions Architect Expert preferred designing DR solutions. Additional value in AZ-104 or AZ-305 for infrastructure and recovery planning 12 years' experience in DR management and Hands-on experience in implementation and deployment Working knowledge of DR concepts like RTO/RPO, backup and restore strategies, failover/failback, runbooks, and business continuity Document post-drill reviews: Analyze gaps (e.g., coordination delays), update procedures, and report KPIs like Mean Time to Recover to steering committees. SLAs Perform health checks: Verify restored systems Percentage Of Experience 12 years of relevant experience in below Lead DR tabletop exercises: Guide cross-functional teams (IT, apps, business) through scripted failure scenarios, discussing roles, timelines, and decisions without live systems. Conduct full-scale DR drills: Oversee failover to secondary sites or cloud (e.g., Azure/OCI), monitoring restore times, data integrity, and failback processes. Perform system backups/restores: Hands-on testing of critical Oracle EBS modules, databases, and cloud workloads to ensure recovery within
