Staff Software Engineer, Integrations

Company: Ridgeline
Location: San Ramon
Posted on: November 27, 2025

Job Description:

Are you a seasoned software engineer with deep expertise in integration technologies? Do you enjoy crafting the building blocks that connect platforms? If you thrive in dynamic environments and love creating solutions that optimize business operations, we’d love to have you on our team. The Ridgeline Integrations team creates standardized integrations for customers, connecting with a wide variety of vendors. We also own the services and tooling that support integration management within the Ridgeline application, as well as integration platform experience for consultants and customers. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will lead integration design and build high-quality solutions hands-on. You’ll help grow partnerships with our stakeholders, mentor other team members, and play an important role in the team’s success. We value collaboration, ownership, knowledge sharing, and a commitment to excellence, and are looking for someone passionate about driving impactful solutions in the integration space. At Ridgeline, how we work matters as much as what we build. Ridgeliners act like owners, choose growth over comfort, and communicate with transparency. We assume positive intent, bias toward action, and bring solutions—not just problems. We celebrate wins, learn from setbacks, and thrive in a resilient, collaborative, high-performing culture. If the Ridgeline Way excites you, we’d love to meet you. You must be work authorized in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship. The impact you will have: • Lead end to end integration design: Architect, prototype, and build robust, resilient integrations using an IPaaS alongside custom components. • Define patterns & frameworks: Establish and evolve reusable integration frameworks and API/data mapping standards. • Hands on implementation: Participate in and help guide the full lifecycle from requirements and design reviews through implementation, automated testing, and deployment for high impact customer integrations. • Mentor & grow the team: Coach engineers on best practices in integration development, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines. • Collaborate cross functionally: Partner with product, customer facing teams, and fellow engineering leaders to translate business needs into scalable integration solutions. • Drive operational excellence: Build and maintain observability (metrics, dashboards, alerts) and evolve our deployment pipelines to ensure SLAs and rapid iteration. • Innovate & scale: Identify opportunities to adopt emerging integration technologies, event driven patterns, or AI assisted transformation to improve reliability and developer productivity. What we look for: • 8 years of experience in software engineering or integration architecture with a strong record of successful project delivery • Deep hands-on experience with one or more IPaaS tools such as Workato, MuleSoft, Boomi, or similar platforms • Expertise in building cloud-native integrations on AWS, Azure, or GCP using serverless or microservice architecture • Strong programming skills in Python, Java, C#, or equivalent languages, including experience with APIs, cloud functions, and transformation logic • In-depth knowledge of data formats (JSON, XML, CSV) and experience with real-time and batch data processing • Familiarity with integration reliability patterns including retries, backoff, idempotency, and circuit breakers • Strong automation skills including CI/CD practices and familiarity with automated testing across unit, contract, and end-to-end levels • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document designs and explain technical concepts clearly • A collaborative mindset and passion for mentoring, problem-solving, and continuous improvement Bonus : • Experience developing custom connectors and reusable integration components in IPaaS environments • Background in investment management or financial technology • Familiarity with event-driven or streaming integration patterns (e.g., Kafka, Pub/Sub) • Contributions to open-source integration frameworks or tooling
