Can be Responsible for Team Member hiring, development, and terminations as designated by FETL. Also responsible for effectively managing labor budget, customer satisfaction, and special projects as assigned. Shares complete accountability for all aspects of department operations with FETL.Principle Duties and Responsibilities:TEAM MEMBER DEVELOPMENTConsistently, communicate and model Whole Foods vision and goal. Assist in the interview, selection, training, development, and counseling of Team Members in a manner, which builds and sustains a high performing team and minimizes turn over. Discuss hiring and termination decisions with guidance of Front End Team Leader, Store Team Leader and Coordinator. Establish and maintain a positive work environment, which sustains an exceptionally high level of Team Member morale. Help develop supervisors as potential ATL/Team Leaders. Assist in timely, thorough and thoughtful Performance evaluations. Communication and maintain employee safety and security standards. Support Regional Front End plan.FINANCIAL MANAGEMENTKnowledge of annual sales and expenses, and annual operating budget. Help achieve budgeted expense levels, department profit, and store profit contribution targets. Maintain exceptional level of customer service relations.COMMUNICATIONEstablish and maintain collaborative and productive working relationship with Front End Team Leader, STL, Team Leaders, and all Team Members. Model and cultivate effective inter-department and inter-store communication.MANAGEMENT REPORTINGProvide accurate, complete information in daily, weekly, monthly, annual and "ad hoc" management reports. Post all coordinator information where it will seen by all Team Members. Thorough and complete documentation in support of Team Member discipline and counseling activities.REGULATORY COMPLIANCEMaintain comprehensive knowledge of, and ensure compliance with relevant regularity rules and standards, including: OSHA, Department of Labor, Health and Sanitation, FDA, Department of Agriculture, Weights and Measures, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)FRONT END SPECIFICPerform all duties of Supervisor, work a variety of shifts, Ability to perform opening and closing procedures. Handle all schedule requests and scheduling for the department needs. Assist with all payroll-processing duties. Meets and communicates with Team Leader on a regular basis. Understand and help meet all labor and margin targets. Capable of performing all Team Leaders duties in their absence. Motivate team. Lead by example. Perform other tasks as assigned by Tl and store leadershipKnowledge, skills and abilities required:1-2 years department experience preferred. Passion and appreciation for department. Clear and effective communicator. Patient and enjoys working and mentoring people. Ability to work well with others as a team. Strong organizational skills. Knowledge of all relevant Whole Foods Market policies and standards.Working conditions:Standing and walking for extended periods of time, up to 8-10 hours. Bending, stooping, climbing. Mental and physical dexterity. Unassisted heavy lifting. Work in varying temperatures (outdoor work, etc. when needed). Use of box cutters. Occasional repetitive motion. Use of Front End equipment. Iteration of duties.
