applicable): Minimum Pay Range: $55.77 - $69.71 Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY The Mammography/Radiologic Technologist operates
mammography/radiology/fluoroscopic/DEXA equipment to produce high
quality images for interpretation by the radiologist. Performs
routine and advanced imaging using fixed and portable imaging
equipment. Ensures the quality control of imaging equipment and
radiation safety of patients, visitors and workers. Assists in the
performance of interventions when necessary. Ensures patient
concerns are addressed in a caring and informative manner. Informs
patients of the latest developments in Women’s healthcare and
provides resources for patients’ information. Maintains a high
standard of practice by participating in continued education in the
field of mammography. Performs a minimum of one hundred mammography
exams per year. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Licensure/Certification: Must hold current California
Radiological Technologists (CRT) licensure in Radiological
Technology and Mammography. National American Registry of
Radiological Technologists (ARRT) licensure strongly preferred.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Education
(CE) requirements must be current. CA Fluoroscopy license required.
A.S. degree or Completion Certificate from a Radiological
Technology Program required. Knowledge: Knowledge of Department of
Human Services (DHS) and Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA)
regulations required. Minimum one-year experience performing
mammography unsupervised. Must complete one-hundred mammography
exams yearly, minimum. Previous experience performing DEXA scans
preferred. Demonstrated literacy with computers. Skills: High
standard work ethic. Must have excellent interpretive skills. Must
have expertise in mammography techniques and positioning and
competency in dealing with mammography patients. Knowledge of
issues in women’s healthcare. Demonstrated ability to work and
remain calm under stressful conditions.
