Healthcare is seeking an experienced Manager of Category Management
to lead and elevate our sourcing and category management function.

Health Care job. A Brief Overview This positions scope of
responsibilities includes SHC and LPCH. The Manager-Category
Management is responsible for providing category management to
drive category specific contract coverage and compliance as well as
oversight for the Value Based Selection (VBS) program which
supports VBS and Value Driven Care. Value Driven Care is an
organizational effort to engage the clinical enterprise in
variation reduction including supplies, drugs, tests, LOS, etc.
Category Management includes contract management responsibility for
medical supplies, non-medical supplies, and purchased services with
a focus on "best value" and Total Cost of Ownership. The
Manager-Category Management will provide leadership to the Category
Management team to ensure unparalleled value is provided to
internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities include
creation and deployment of 1) a Category Management strategy that
positions the Category Management team as the trusted advisor to
stakeholders and 2) the Value Based Selection program, which
supports clinically engaged value analysis. The manager will
provide leadership to the Category Management team to develop the
relationships with their internal and external stakeholders, being
responsible for conveying and receiving information relevant to
each program. This manager will work proactively with the Category
Management team and stakeholders to deliver effective business
solutions, market insights, and strategic sourcing methods. This
position works within the Value Based Selection framework to
facilitate supply chain leadership with the goal of attaining an
optimal balance of quality, service, availability and value. The
Manager-Category Management is tasked with reviewing transactional
data to identify the opportunities resulting from improved pricing,
utilization and technology and verifying the expected outcomes
after implementation. Locations Stanford Health Care What you will
do Creates and leads a team of Category Specialists in
collaboration with the Director of Sourcing. Supports the Non-Labor
Spend Management Committee with category expertise. Provides
operational leadership in collaboration with ITS for the
implementation, deployment and ongoing management of Procured
Health. Acts as day-to-day point of contact for Group Purchasing
Organization and other vendor representatives. Negotiates pricing
and contracts for products, product groups, services. Using the
Value Based Selection framework, drives new product request and
tracks the evaluation processes. Develops and monitors vendor
policy. Develops and implements performance measures and quality
measures to ensure high service levels while maintaining cost
effectiveness. Develops and mentors staff so that they are
continuously challenged to add value through their actions and to
embody a customer service spirit. Drives forward aggressive savings
initiatives across both hospitals to positively impact the
hospitals’ bottom line. Documents and communicates the savings
success and engages end users in needed process change or product
conversion. Utilizes all available tools to gain market knowledge
and to access best pricing of assigned categories, including but
not limited to ECRI, Spendlink. Facilitates implementation of new
or modified policies and procedures based on hospital best
practices and compliance with Federal, State, and regulatory
agencies. Ensures policies are followed across the organization
through education to hospital departments and coordination with
Finance, Compliance, Office of General Counsel, and Risk
Management. Monitors and evaluates contract volume, supply chain
information system performance, purchasing volume and flow, and
value-based selection reporting and outcomes; provides input from
to director of sourcing and implements changes and enhancements.
Regularly presents to internal and external stakeholders. Performs
other related and incidental duties as needed or assigned.
Education Qualifications Bachelors degree in a work-related
field/discipline from an accredited college or university.
Experience Qualifications Five (5) years of related work experience
in Value Analysis, Contract Administration, Vendor Management, or
Sourcing. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to be
sensitive to the needs of customers through the practice of quality
service principles Ability to communicate effectively, both orally
and in writing, to persuade internal and external stakeholders
Ability to develop long-range business plans and strategies Ability
to manage complex relationships with critical vendor partners
Ability to strategize, plan and implement change Ability to
understand, draft and negotiate Contractual Agreements and Pricing
Agreements Ability to work effectively both as a team player and
leader Knowledge and understanding of financial and statistical
activity reports Knowledge of automated materials management

requirements. Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $70.52 - $93.43
per hour The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be
set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to,
internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
