HealthPRO-Heritage is seeking an Exercise Physiologist for our Full-Time Position to lead wellness programming for two resort-style Senior Living facilities in Emeryville, Fremont, and/or San Ramon, CA starting January 2022 as a Healthy Living Coordinator! The schedule will be Monday through Friday up to 40 hours per week between two locations with no weekend requirement.Performs intermediate, skilled work developing, managing and implementing comprehensive health, wellness and fitness programs and activities for the senior population.ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties and Tasks

  • Opens the CenterConducts monthly checks of emergency equipment throughout the Center to ensure that it is functioning
  • Develops, manages and implements comprehensive health and wellness programs for senior
  • Provides personal counseling, monitors clients for special needs, and aids in the care, comfort, and well-being of older adults.
  • Plans, coordinates, and conducts health and wellness related educational presentations; contacts and schedules varied speakers from local health related organizations and businesses; seeks input from participants; researches potential topics regarding health awareness, exercise and fitness, medication management and safety issues.
  • Oversees the Center's fitness room and instructs seniors on the proper use of fitness equipment.
  • Coordinates repair and maintenance of fitness equipment.
  • Coordinates and schedules health provider services offered at the Senior Center, e.g. blood pressure checks and hearing tests; serves as coordinator with the Parks and Recreation Department for Senior Games; coordinates Project Heat Relief.
  • Arranges for and/or conducts a variety of educational, health and safety related classes and seminars for seniors.Develops additional health resources for the Senior Center through community education and volunteer recruitment.Serves as team leader with other staff and seniors to plan and carry out the logistics of the Senior Games opening
  • Organizes focus groups to solicit feedback on existing fitness/wellness programs offered at the Senior Center.
  • Assists the Director in formulation of new program proposals and recruiting new vendors; assists with the budget on Title III D and other
  • Collects data and develops outcomes measurements for health and fitness programs.
  • Prepares publicity materials and promotes the activities at the Center through a variety of media
  • Participates in other center activities as appropriate and as needed.Covers the Reception Desk and provide daily assistance to clients; helps clients complete applications; assists with daily tours; handles cash and prepares receipts for deposit on a weekly or bi-weekly
  • Serves as Coordinator of Carteret County Safety and Wellness
  • Serves on the Carteret County Senior Games AdvisoryAdditional Job Duties
    • Performs related duties as required.QualificationsDesirable Education and ExperienceGraduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in health education, physical education, recreation administration or closely related field and moderate experience in managing or supervising health, physical education or recreation programs, preferably working with the senior population in the CCRC setting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
      • Knowledge of the aging process, psychosocial aspects of aging, and understanding the needs of the older adult.
      • Knowledge of the most common diseases and/or functional disorders of the aging.
      • Working knowledge of resources available in the community for older adults.Ability to effectively plan and organize health seminars and activities for senior adults within the CCRC related to topics of interest.

        • Work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operating machines and observing general surroundings and activities.
        • Work requires occasional exposure to blood borne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment and exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
        • Work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
