Job Description:
The Associate Director, Corporate Accounting will oversee their
Operational and Technical Accounting areas, making sure processes
run smoothly with the month end close and full accounting cycle.
You will report into the Controller.Responsibilities:
- Oversee development and operational aspects of accounting staff
whose job functions pertain to corporate accounting, inventory
management, technical accounting, revenue recognition, clinical
trial accounting, consolidations and financial reporting.
- Implement and maintain internal control policies and procedures
over general accounting, inventory, fixed assets, and procure to
pay.
- Identify areas in need of process change, develop solutions for
successful change and execute on those changes.
- Identify and support ERP efficiencies; provide subject matter
expertise on behalf of finance/accounting business unit.
- Administer and execute on the accounting monthly close process.
Collaborate with cross functional teams to reduce the close time
while adhering to internal controls.
- Responsible for the consolidation of subsidiary financial
statements and the accurate remeasurement and translation of
foreign currency accounts.
- Develop strong collaborative relationship with external
auditors; ensure timely, accurate and responsive supporting
schedules and assistance for quarterly reviews and year-end audits.
This includes preparation of schedules and analysis, technical
accounting memos, and discussions with audit team.
- Work with CFO, accounting staff, and executive management to
develop, prepare and maintain internal financial reporting
packages.
- Keep abreast of current technical accounting changes and the
applicability of new technical pronouncements to the Company.
- Document Company's treatment on certain accounting matters,
including revenue recognition, on an as-needed basis.
- Assist with the preparation of the Company's SEC filings. This
includes competitor analysis, technical research, and footnote
disclosure.
- Ensure budgeting, scheduling, staffing, performance management
and training requirements are met.Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree required with a minimum of 7
years relevant experience.
- CPA strongly preferred.
- Public accounting - audit -preferred.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and SEC reporting.
- Previous management experience with demonstrated organizational
and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication skills (encompasses verbal, written,
interpersonal, listening).
- Experience managing projects a plus.
- Demonstrated detail-orientation, planning and organizational
skills a must.
- Ability to prioritize and meet stringent deadlines; attention
