Job Description:

The OpportunityRodan and Fields is seeking a hands- on Database Manager to lead a small team of 1-2 FTE and about 9-10 contractors both on and offshore. He/she will participate in all day to day technical activities such as sprint planning, writing test cases and test plans, creating Database automation scripts and working with cross functions such as Dev team, Release team, Product team, performance team and so on. He/she will have daily sync up with offshore team at the end of the day and early morning to hand off and receive work from offshore team. We are looking for a highly technical and hands on person to lead the team, while also participating in testing. This will be about 70% hands on and 30% leading and managing. We need someone who possesses great communication, reporting skills, and great interpersonal skills is a must as he/ she will be working with many cross functional partners.Responsibilities:Provide leadership and people management (allocation, monitoring, motivating etc.) to QA team members and vendor resources (onsite and offshore).Train and Mentor QA members, establish a culture of testing efficiently and effectively, critical thinking and problem solving. Leads QA engineers in developing new processes, tools and technology capabilitiesEnsure daily functioning of your team including staffing, interviewing, hiring, mentoring and training new employees. Set and maintain goals that articulates short and long-term goals to ensure a company's longevityCandidate is expected to play a pivotal role in ensuring quality data is maintained and adhered to support end-to-end business transactions, business solutions and processes to drive overall business efficiency and effectiveness.Design & develop solutions using standard data management methodology & tool-set for data extraction, mapping, scoping, transformation, validation & loads.Partner with functional teams to identify and execute on opportunities for data quality improvements, enhancements, standardization and simplification.Collaboratively define test data management strategy and roadmapProvide thought leadership on test data management strategies & tools and test environment management across all projectsDesign & implement industrialized test data management tools & capabilitiesDevelop & champion adoption of test data management best practices for testing integrity of data for all databasesInvestigate and recommend new methodologies and tools that allow the team to become more efficient. Drive testing methodology and tools to support agile development lifecycles.Develop test strategies and create appropriate test harnesses as well as pragmatic testing approaches.Collaborate with Software Development management and cross function teams to review new product specifications, provide feedback, generate iteration and/or project estimates and to plan releases.Lead and participate in all phases of software development projects, including pre- initiation, initiation, definition, specification, development and testing.Manage and respond to production issues well as champion quality company-wide.Work closely with your manager to understand and implement engineering strategy, roadmap and process improvement.Define and use metrics that are meaningful and useful to the Software Testing team and to senior managementQualifications:Strong Knowledge of Relational databases, their objects, and Data Warehouse models.Experiences in writing Complex SQL Queries, created/modified DB objects, performance tuning, and table partitioning.Proven Experience in Data Migration Projects, a complete understanding of STM, DM Scope, and Onboarding concepts in the Data Migration path.Knowledge of ETL tools preferably SSIS, Boomi, Mulesoft, etc, and their ETL data validations.Hands-on experience in Data Automation frameworks like Cucumber, Airflow, ETL validator, etc.Minimum of 1 year working experience in Kafka Streaming platform and its streaming process.Experiences in Data Streaming Automation, API automation, and its CICD implementation utilizing Source Control and Build Apps.Experiences in GCP Cloud Storages and Data Services: Cloud Migration, BigQuery, GCP Buckets, Data Flow, Data fusion,DataProc etc.Knowledge of Containers & Microservices would be a great plus.Must have Knowledge of at least one of the Advanced Reporting tools like Microstrategy, Qlickview, Looker, and Tableau and report automation.Significant understanding of Splunk, and New Relic for proactive reporting and alert in QA Organization.Must know at least one OOPS language like Java, Python, .Net, etc.The CompanyRodan + Fields was founded in 2000 by Stanford-trained dermatologists Dr. Katie Rodan and Dr. Kathy Fields with a passion for giving people the best skin of their lives - and the confidence that comes with it.
