The Assistant Chief Engineer oversees the efficient, safe and responsible operation of all building systems and equipment while also leading the engineering team. You will work as part of an engineering team of 6 at a 512,000 square foot Class A office building in San Francisco. This position requires the Assistant Chief Engineer to be on-site. Schedule: 7am-3pm (flexible) Monday through Friday. WHAT YOU’LL DO Under the Chief Engineer’s direction, supervise and direct contractors and monitor performance Assist the Chief Engineer in the formulation and implementation of the preventive maintenance program Assist the Chief Engineer in training and supervision aimed at expanding the capabilities of the engineering team Maintain work order system (CMMS) daily and complete any tenant service requests Support preparation of monthly/quarterly operations and mechanical reports Respond effectively to all emergencies Communicate effectively to the client and building occupants/tenants Complete assigned tasks that include but are not limited to: painting, pressure washing, cleaning, maintaining lighting system bulbs/ballasts (as allowed by licensing requirements), plumbing, HVAC systems, water treatment, hanging pictures, repair office furniture, locksmith work and general maintenance Perform assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts Comply with all safety procedures Comply with all policies for the safe storage, usage and disposal of hazardous materials Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE 3-5 years of related work experience, especially in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or carpentry Commercial High Rise experience preferred Trade school education, union training, military service or college is desirable Universal CFC EPA certification or interest in achieving within first year (with JLL assistance) Leadership and/or supervisory experience Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams) Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Comfort using ladders up to 30 feet tall Ability to frequently climb, bend, kneeling, lift and/or drive Strong customer service and communication skills WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU Join an industry leader and shape the future of commercial real estate Deep investment in cutting-edge technology to power your work Proposed salary: per CBA Comprehensive and competitive benefits plan A supportive, caring and diverse work environment designed for your growth and well-being This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Estimated compensation for this position: 172,000.00 – 172,000.00 USD per year This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ.
