Requisition ID# 145029Job Category: Engineering / ScienceJob Level: Individual ContributorBusiness Unit: Operations - OtherWork Type: HybridJob Location: San RamonDepartment OverviewThe men and women of Electric Operations Emergency Preparedness Department are key in responding to emergency events such as Public Safety Power Shutdowns, large catastrophic earthquakes, severe winter storms, wind events, wildfires, and other natural disasters as well as man-made incidents, hazards, and threats. The Emergency Preparedness and Response Department is a part of the Electric Ops program reporting directly to the Sr Executive Vice president of Electric Operations and is the lead for directing emergency response operations across the enterprise and in preparing PG&E for all emergencies and disasters. EP&R works with Executives, Field Crews, various functional areas, and other PG&E entities to reduce the consequence of emergency incidents and disasters through the development of plans, procedures, protocols, exercises, drills, workshops and orientations on a variety of topics.The Planning and Prevention Team in EP&R is responsible for the Company Emergency Response Plan and associated annexes, filing GO 166 compliance information, and publishing other plans, procedures, and standards as needed. Position SummaryThis expert technical writer develops and maintains documents, libraries, information systems, job aids, and other pertinent media to support PG&E's response to emergencies. They work independently with focus on high quality deliverables. They should be familiar with project management and continuous improvement methodology.The successful candidate will translate complex procedural information based on business requirements and standards into user-friendly references such as policy and procedures, user manuals and Sharepoint Sites. They will collaborate with and gather information from internal and external clients to develop documentation that is easy to understand and use. They will perform document editing, document lifecycle management, basic web setup and document publishing.This position location is flexible.PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of thejob posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will bebased on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience,market value, geographic location, and internal equity.Although we estimatethe successful candidate hiredinto this rolewill be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decisionwill be made on a case-by-casebasis related tothese factors.A reasonable salary range is:Bay Area Minimum: $114,000Bay Area Maximum: $182,000&/ORCalifornia Minimum: $108,000California Maximum: $173,000Job Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates broad expertise, knowledge and technical competence and applies to wide ranging issues
  • Develops and implements communications, training and change management in support of major change management and implementation initiatives
  • Develops new and innovative technical documentation tools, processes and methods.
  • Leads large, cross-functional and complex technical documentation projects.
  • Creates updates and maintains department Sharepoint sites.
  • May act as a team lead and/or coach to developing employees.QualificationsMinimum:
    • Bachelors Degree in English or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
    • Job-related experience, 6 yearsDesired:
      • Experience working with PG&E's guidance document or technical information libraries, including procedures, standards, policies, and other published work documents at PG&E.
      • Experience in process improvement
      • Experience in project management
      • Experience in technical writing
      • Experience in content management
      • Advanced knowledge and application of documentation technologies and processes
      • Written and oral communication skills
      • Proficient in the use of MS Office and SharePoint
      • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
      • Ability to lead project teams
      • Lean Six Sigma designation
      • PG&E writing style experience
